At MJ Reilly Constructions, we spend most of our days working on buildings, structure and detail. But we also care about what is happening outside the site fence, especially for young people and families doing it tough.

That is why we support a local community charity through sponsorship donations, Southern Youth and Family Services.

Supporting young people and families in hardship

This organisation works with children, young people, adults and families who are facing hardship or are at risk of homelessness across Wollongong, the Illawarra and Southern NSW.

They provide:

> A safe place to stay in times of crisis

> Support to find and keep longer term housing

> Programs that help people build skills, confidence and stability

Behind every service is a real story, like a teenager who needs a safe bed for the night, a parent trying to keep a roof over their kids, or a young person wanting a fresh start.

You can read more about their work on the Southern Youth and Family Services website.

Why this kind of support builds stronger futures

Safe housing and the right support can change the course of someone’s life. When people have somewhere safe to sleep and someone on their side, it becomes easier to:

> Stay in work or study

> Care for children

> Make plans for the future

Business sponsorships and donations help keep these services going. It is one way our industry can help build stronger futures in the communities we work in.

Our role as a local business

Through our sponsorship, we help this charity continue its work with people who need extra support, while we focus on what we do best, making homes and buildings safer and more durable.

For us, it is simple. Strong structures matter. So does looking out for the people who live in and around them.
